The Combat Quilter
Andrew Lee is a 20 year veteran with 2 tours in Iraq. He uses quilting as a tool to help him handle PTSD and connect with others through his work with Quilts of Valor. Lee is a long arm quilter and can be heard at our Opening Panel on Friday, January 21 from 6-7 pm at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. He will speak again, individually, from 10-12 on Saturday, January 22nd at the University Museum in Oxford, Mississippi. These events are free and open to the public.
Lauren Cardenas
Lauren Cardenas is a multitalented, Latinx artist from Texas who now teaches at the University of Mississippi. Lauren works with fiber as a medium, a subject, and a tool. Her work ranges from print to photography to magazine. We are delighted to have Lauren join us at our opening Panel on Friday January 21st from 6-7 pm at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center and again on Saturday January 22nd at the University Museum from 1-3.
